Lakeview Child Center employs staff who understand child development, who are loving and caring, who value young children and who want to contribute to their future through early childhood education. We are strongly committed to the professional development of our employees. New employees must complete a comprehensive training program and all staff members participate in workshops and conferences to continually update their skills. In addition, every staff member is required to be certified in CPR and First Aid.
ADMINISTRATION
LuAnn Wood, Vice President, has been employed by Lakeview Child Center since February 1994.
She has held the positions of Executive Director at Lakeview at Horizon and Program Administrator prior to
becoming Assistant Vice President in July 2002. Before coming to Lakeview, she worked in two local childcare
programs and ran a Family Daycare Center. LuAnn has over 25 years of experience with young children and their families.
LuAnn holds a BS in Education from Indiana University of PA and is certified in Elementary Education and Nursery. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Science in Management program at Thomas Edison State College. LuAnn is an Instructor for Professional Impact NJ and is a member of the child care work group for Shaping NJ. LuAnn is currently the Treasurer of the Central Chapter of the New Jersey Association for the Education of Young Children and served as its President for 4 years. LuAnn has been active in her community as a Girl Scout leader, Home Front volunteer and PTA member. She has held the offices of President and Treasurer in the local PTA. LuAnn served as a validator for NAEYC accreditation for over 10 years.
Pattijo Shaffer, Sr. Executive Director for Program Development has been employed by Lakeview Child Center since July 1997 serving as Executive Director of the program on the campus of RWJ Hamilton. She has been in the Early Childhood field for over 31 years. Prior to working at Lakeview, she worked in Texas and Pennsylvania with children from Infants through Kindergarten. In Pennsylvania, she worked for 11 years as Director of a corporate sponsored program where she opened a licensed kindergarten. Pattijo is a CDA trainer since 1999 and a CPR/FA instructor since 1998. In July 2002, Pattijo was promoted to Sr. Executive Director for Program Development and is the Health Consultant for the Lakeview programs.
Pattijo holds a BS in Child Development and Family Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified Health and Safety instructor through the American Red Cross, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association. Pattijo is a Master Instructor for Professional Impact NJ and was a validator for NAEYC accreditation for 5 years. Pattijo was named the 2012 Dr. Maxine Fischel Professional Development Award winner through the Professional Impact NJ and NJAEYC. Pattijo serves on The Pediatric/Adult Asthma Coalition of New Jersey and is a member of NAEYC, NACCP AND CAPPA.
Elizabeth Prior, Executive Director, has been employed by Lakeview Child Center since September 1997. She has served as Executive Director at West Windsor, Lawrenceville and Ewing, opening the last 2 centers. Liz has previous experience with Bright Horizons holding positions as Director and Field Director. Prior to working with Bright Horizons, Liz was Director of a private program in California and a social worker for the Division of Youth and Family Services in New Jersey.
Liz holds a degree in psychology and criminal justice from Kutztown University. She has been teaching CDA classes since 1999 and is an instructor for Professional Impact NJ.
Liz has served as vice-president of the Central Chapter of the New Jersey Association for the Education of Young Children and a validator for NAEYC accreditation.
Shannon Dumas became the Executive Director at Lawrenceville in October 2008.
Shannon has been part of the Lakeview family for 10 years and has 14 years of experience working with children.
Shannon is a graduate of Holy Family University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Shannon started her Lakeview career as an infant room Assistant Teacher in 2002. In January 2003, she accepted a position as Office Manager and held this position for 2 1/2 years. Since completing her degree she has served as Preschool Head Teacher at both the Lawrenceville and Hamilton centers. Additionally, Shannon managed the Summer Enrichment Program for school-age children at Hamilton for the past 4 summers.
Arlene Miller
, Executive Director, began her career as a foreign language teacher in NJ. Upon relocating to Colorado, she taught preschool and created a foreign language program for elementary schools. Arlene returned to NJ and became a kindergarten teacher for 6 years before accepting the position as Executive Director of Lakeview Child Center at Quakerbridge in January 1995. She has been actively involved in education for over 30 years working with children from birth to eighteen years.
Arlene holds a BA in Education from Douglass College, Rutgers University. Arlene is an instructor for Professional Impact NJ and teaches CDA classes.
Rachel McGwier, Executive Director, has been employed by Lakeview Child Center since 2004.
She has over 10 years of experience working with children and families.
Rachel holds a degree in Social Work from Monmouth University and started her career with Lakeview as a Preschool Teacher in West Windsor.
Most recently she held the position of Office Manager at the Ewing center. Rachel rejoined the West Windsor staff as Executive Director in October 2012.
Susan Zaidman, Executive Director, accepted the position as Executive Director at Lakeview Child Center at Manalapan in May 1998. She began her career in the NYC public school system as a third grade teacher and reading specialist. Susan has opened 3 successful childcare centers including Lakeview at Manalapan. She was also employed as a supervisor for 9 Head Start centers in Newark, NJ. Susan has worked in the educational field for over 26 years.
Susan holds a master's degree in Elementary Education and is certified in both NY and NJ. Susan has attended countless hours of in-service courses and received certifications in the field during her career.
Denise Rosati, Executive Director, joined Lakeview at Horizon in October 2009.
Denise has over 17 years of experience in the Early Childhood field.
Denise has experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years old.
Denise holds a BS in Early Childhood Education from Almeda University. Prior to joining Lakeview, Denise worked for a local childcare center as a Center Director. Denise enjoys donating her time as a Room Mother and PTA member.
